International News: 5 May, 2002

Todays news comes from Nate Holynski.

Results from Jersey All Pro Wrestling, Bayonne, New Jersey. May 03, 2002
The Sheik Defeated Roachie Roach
Ghost Shadow & Elaxx defeated The Big Black Unit
Mike Kruel defeated Striker
The Shaolin Wrecking Crew defeated The Christopher Street Connection
Rainchild & Jay Lethal defeated The Strong Brothers
Tornado Tony Kozina defeated Low Ki
The SAT defeated The Briscoe Brothers
The Insane Dragon defeated Red
Triple Crown Champion Dixie defeated Deranged - The Briscoe's came out and turned heel on Deranged and sided with Dixie. Should be interesting seeing Mark and Jay as heels as they are quite over with the East Coast fans....

Isn't it interesting also to see the SAT's and Briscoe's working for Fat Frank's promotion now, as they don't work CZW show's at all anymore. This would seem strange to those speculating that the leaving from CZW is a work. Fat Frank must be having a good laugh at John now...

There were crowd estimates by people who attended at it being around 150 + people, which is disappointing.

Also intertesting note from the show RF Video owner Rob Feinstein got into an argument with WK Media (that's right, WK Media who do the US hardcore PPV's, and are trying to ban us selling and trading BJPW tapes, and are destroying the production and product that BJW offer for people who may not have seen these death match kings before). Kevin Walters was apparently upset about a number of things including how much money he lost on their last PPV shown in the US. Anyway, apparently he went behind the RF Video tape selling table and got into an argument with Rob claiming he'd sue him for selling BJW tapes. Anyway, the argument got heated and Kevin threw two stacks of tapes to the floor and threatended to punch Rob, he then grabbed Rob as the taunting and abuse continued untill the police removed him... Funny stuff if you ask me :)

Also in other news Ohio Valley Wrestling will feature an apperance by the "King of Hardcore" Mick Foley on the 31 may 2002 at Six Flag's Kentucky Kingdom.

New Japan Pro Wrestling are at the moment running a competiton in which fans have been given the chance to create a new ring name for Joanne Laurer (WWF's Chyna) as Dan suggested earlier "Whats Japanese for she-male?" LOL

Also Keiji Mutoh and Satoshi Kojima have confirmed their booking for The Road Warriors show on June 22, 2002 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Also at PWF Pro Wrestling's Last Stampede show on Sunday, 5 May Dusty Rhodes won't be attending the card. They have announced that "There will be an opponent that will shock the PWF to it's core".

Highlights on the card include: Samoe Joe vs Dylan Night, Chris Hamrick VS CW Anderson, and The Damned vs. Christian York & Joey Matthews

That's the brief news update for today. Thanks.

hey everybody a few news and notes to get through

A few more notes

Notes first. I've been hearing from quite a few puroresu experts and on sites and boards that it could be likley that Bill Goldberg may work for New Japan Pro Wrestling in the near future which would be very interesting indeed. Heck, what would Inoki and the office do with him?

It has also been claimed that he may enter into shoot fighting with the PRIDE promotion. I would highly doubt that though personally. I still believe Vince will snap him up in the near future as they try and iron out an agreement which will make both parties happy and piss off most of the boys in the back as well as the internet community(myself included, I dont think I could stand 2-3 minute squash's. How about you?)

Donovan Morgan and Mike Modest's will debut their promotion's (Pro Wrestling Iron) show on the 31 may in California. They should bring a very stiff puroresu style to California. I'd expect to see a few NOAH faces on their cards as well. Their site is ProWrestlingIron.com.

RESULTS AND BRIEF COMMENTS

Dai Nihon (Big Japan): 4 May, 2002

Daikokubo Benkei & Abdullah Kobayashi d. Men's Teioh and Yuichi Taniguchi - 14mins 15secs
Jun Kasai & The W*inger d. Mad Man Pondo & Shunme Matsuzaki - Guaranteed mayhem with Kasai and Pondo around.
Shadow WX & Ryuji Yamakawa d. Homicide & 2 Tuff Tony WX - This match would have been quite interesting IMO especially seeing Homicide working with Ryuji... glad to see the newcomers dropping a few to the veterans too :)

ATSUSHI ONITA

Onita's FMW had a big card from Korakuen Hall, 4 May 2002. Lots of blood, barbwire and insanity here.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SHOW INCLUDED:
BARBED WIRE BOARD MATCH: Masanobu Kurisu d. Shoji Nakamaki In only 5mins and 20secs. Shoji probably started juicing in under a minute...

30,000 THUMBTACKS DEATH MATCH: Bad Boy Hido d. Mitsuhiro Matsunaga - would have been insane with lots of bumps into the tacks. I suspect this match will be heavily saught after by Death Match fans (myself included... mmm...).

Masato Tanaka & Atsushi Onita d. Tetsuhiro Kuroda and Kintaro Kanemura

Tanaka d. Kanemura - Very interesting match indeed, I'd say there would be quite a bit of brawling all the way to the top of the Korakuen Hall with blood shed and some actually really good wrestling inside the ring - in particular betweem Tanaka and Kuroda. Heck Kanemura would have looked good in the ring too as he's been looking alot better in the last 6 months with his in-ring action.

MICHINOKU PRO MAY 4 2002
Held at Iwate, in the Ichinoseki Bunka Center Gym

Jodie Fleisch & Hideki Nishida & Tiger Mask & Great Sasuke d. Tomohiro Ishii & Ikuto Hidaka & Masao Orihara & Dick Togo - Should have been an interesting encounter. Lots of unreal highspots and great in ring wrestling. Tiger Mask went over Tomohiro Ishii here.

IWA MID SOUTH ACTION (results thanks to chicagowrestling.com)

Todd Morton beat Jade Dragon 14mins 20secs
Rain and Lacey match ended in a no contest when Dave Prazak ran in to stop the match in 5mins
Corporal Robinson beat Shirley Doe in 8mins 36secs
Ace Steel Beat Vic Capri in a 30 minute Ironman Match to win the Lightheavyweight Title. Falls Came in: Capri 8mins 11secs, 16mins 21secs, 28mins 18secs and Steel: 13mins 49secs, 18mins 57secs, 25mins 01secs, 29mins 59secs. HOLY SHIT! This would have been awesome to watch - pinfalls all round! LOL
Puppet d. Teo in 8mins 45secs - Go you hardcore midgets!
'Spyder' Nate Webb d. Necro Butcher in 12mins 41secs - This would have been a crazy match with Butcher mutilating the spots machine Webb.
Ian Rotten and Cash Flo d. Rollin Hard and Mitch Page in 22mins 58secs to win the tag title. Interesting as the stip for the match was if Cash Flo and Ian didnt win, Flo would never be seen in the IWA MS again, although this made the result a tad predictable.
Colt Cabana retained his title by beating Chris Hero and CM Punk. Hero was eliminated first at 17mins 13secs, then Punk at 17mins 27secs. Would have been a solid match with three strong competitors.

Thats all for now. Thanks, Nate.
